TRNSMT Festival makes big noise at industry awards

Major festival award

Scotland’s top festival took home the top prize at The LIVE Awards

Last night, TRNSMT Festival scooped up Major Festival of The Year at The LIVE Awards 2023 in London.

The festival, which is celebrating its 7th year next year, beat stiff competition, including the likes of Isle of Wight Festival, Reading & Leeds, Splendour, Victorious and Wireless to take home the top prize.

As DF Concerts flagship festival, TRNSMT has cemented itself at the heart of the UK’s music festival calendar and won the accolade after being judged by a closed and anonymous panel of industry professionals who recognised the festival as the best in the UK.

The music industry came together (12 December) for The LIVE Awards to celebrate achievements across leading companies and individuals in the live music sector to honour the brilliant events of 2023.

TRNSMT, which debuted in Glasgow in July 2017, has welcomed some of the world’s biggest stars to the UK. The festival gave the first stage to the likes of Lewis Capaldi and Sam Fender, supporting them on their paths to global stardom. The festival has rapidly grown into one of the biggest live music events in the UK, attracting up to 150,000 attendees over three days.

Geoff Ellis, Festival Director and CEO of DF Concerts said: “TRNSMT has cemented itself as one of the nation's most loved and well-attended outdoor music festivals, featuring top-tier global artists and championing local emerging talents.  Congratulations to all of the team who have played their part in making TRNSMT a huge success and who make sure it gets better every year.”

The festival returns to Glasgow Green from 12th to 14th July next year. The 2024 bill is one of the biggest yet, with headliners including Liam Gallagher, Gerry Cinnamon, Calvin Harris, plus sets from Sugababes, Rick Astley, Garbage, CMAT, and many more.
